Large bony projections known as tori make fabrication of a denture impossible in this patient. They will be removed, and the ridges recontoured in a combined "torectomy" / alveoloplasty procedure.

The large tori were removed in this alveoloplasty procedure. The remaining teeth were also removed. The photograph shows the treated ridge one week after his surgery. Sutures are still in place.

A section of the removed torus is shown.
